Volunteering - What’s involved?
There are many opportunities to get involved and take your place as part of the Options Lennoxville team. We believe there's a place for everyone in our ministry to serve; no matter where you are at in your faith journey or biases on unplanned pregnancy. We can work together to find your place, according to your strengths and interests, on our team.
Options Lennoxville is an organization founded on Christian principles. As such, there are some volunteer positions that require the signing of our core statements of faith and principles. In order to demonstrate the love of Jesus to individuals facing unexpected pregnancy and its effects, volunteer positions which include the provision of Christian spiritual care and mentorship when requested are reserved for followers of Jesus.
We require serious volunteers who can commit to the hours and tasks necessary to be a consistent support in the community. As per the guidelines set out by the Government of Canada, we screen all applicants to ensure they are the right fit for our organization, and that they are suitable candidates to work with vulnerable individuals or those in crisis. We are also not a political organization, as such, volunteers can not both be representatives of our organization while participating in political or legal activism. We do not exist to limit the choices of women. We exist to expand the support services so that no woman has an unwanted abortion due to lack of support or fear.
We thank you ahead of time for your interest, however please note that not all applicants will be accepted to join our team, or in the capacity, for which they apply.
Screening includes:
-
Application
-
Initial interview (can occur before the application)
-
Reference check
-
Detailed interview
-
Police records checks including Name-based Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Verification

Client Care Training
The client care training includes a learning at your own pace portion (about 21h) as well as weekly 2-hour facilitation meetings to discuss what you are learning and ask questions. Exact times will be determined based on participants availabilities.
All volunteers who have contact with our clients are required to complete our Client Care Training.
Please note that not every applicant who completes the volunteer training will be accepted to volunteer in client care, but we do strive to find an area where everyone can serve.
